Promoting theatre & video in adult prison education across Europe

Background

Over the past few years theatre and video, have become increasingly important in helping prisoners and ex-offenders to gain confidence, recover their faith in life, realise their potential and even find new careers. It is against this background that The Will to Dream emerged, aiming to encourage the practical use of theatre and video in adult prison education, particularly focusing on support for countries in eastern and central Europe with limited theatre experience. The Will to Dream project concentrates on developing strategies, approaches and learning material to encourage and promote the use of theatre and video in adult prison education across Europe, including the direct involvement of professional theatre and media practitioners.
