Written by Ole Reitov, Freemuse

Freemuse has written the Prison Art Network with concerns of music censorship. Freemuse is an independent international organization advocating freedom of expression for musicians and composers worldwide and is found of the net at www.freemuse.org

Freemuse ask:

Should you know of any incidents on restrictions/censorship of music in prisons or should you be aware of researchers or colleagues in similar organisations that have dealt with the issue of music censorship/restrictions in prisons I would appreciate any information you could forward to me. We would even be interested in historical documentation (articles/research/links).

We collaborate closely with researchers, media organisations, Human rights Organisations and musicians/composers all over the world.

If you wish further information about Freemuse, our work, charter and collaborators please visit www.freemuse.org and http://www.freemuse.org/sw184.asp
